4 X 4 self
drive tours to the following areas:-

The Richtersveld National
Park is the only mountain desert park in South Africa. Situated in the
western corner of the Northern Cape on the border with Namibia. The area is
known for its rock formations and succulent species of which some are
confined to the area. The best time for a visit, depending on the rainy
season, is late winter, early spring. A visit during autumn can also be
recommended specially for those who would like to put the newly acquired 4 X
4 to the test and also would like to explore nature and to forget city life
for a while.
The tour starts at Springbok,
“capital” of Namakwaland and ends at Kuboes, the main town of the
Richtersveld, with a cultural evening. We provide breakfast and dinner.
If silence is a priority this
breakaway is highly recommended. We provide two-way radio-communication on a
dedicate channel as well as driver training on this eight day self drive
safari.

The Kgalagadi Transfrontier
Park was the first cross border-park in South Africa. There were never
fences in the park that borders with Botswana allowing animals to move
freely between the two countries. Visitors are now also allowed to do the
same, however border control procedures are to be adhered to before entering
the park when you intend to exit at a gate in the other country. We do both
side of the park starting in the South African side. At Mata-Mata we take
part in a night drive provided by the park authorities. After we have
completed the South African side we cross over to Mabuashehube with the
access-route and overnight at one of the remote campsites.
To experience the virginity
of the Kalahari you would need a 4 X 4 vehicle with low range. An off-road
trailer / caravan can be taken provided the horses underneath the bonnet of
the towing vehicle is strong enough to conquer the dunes..
As with all our tours we
provide two-way radio-communication on a dedicated channel to all vehicles
in the convoy. We also provide recovery equipment and assist with driver
training.
Breakfast, dinner as well as
shower facilities are provided on this 10 day self drive safari.

If you are one of those who thought that
the Karoo is that two hundred and eighty kilometre stretch from Touwsriver
to Beaufort Wes, then you need to accompany us on a mountain and flower tour
early spring. We visit a corbelled house that was occupied as recent as the
early 1960’s. On this self-drive tour we tackle the “back-roads”, enjoy the
flowers of the Tanqua Karoo from the Roggeveld-mountains. In the Biedouw
valley we will test, driver skills on a 4X4 track, hike the Cederberg-mountains
and visit the Southern African Large Telescope at Sutherland.
We limit this tour to six
vehicles to allow ample time to explore the beauty of the Karoo. As usual we
provide two-way radio-communication on a dedicated channel for the duration
of the tour. Breakfast, dinner and snacks are provided.
